Our History

Perun Mountain was founded in 2017 as a Slavic cultural organization by a group of Americans from the New England area of the United States,  with diverse Slavic backgrounds and interests, these individuals came together during several trips to Slavic lands in Europe. During their journeys, they quickly realized the significant knowledge gap that exists in the English-speaking world regarding Slavic culture, history, and native faith.

Among the founders were first-generation Slavic-Americans who were still fluent in their native languages, as well as second or third-generation descendants with deep roots in the United States. Despite their varying backgrounds, they all shared a common love and respect for their Slavic heritage.

Recognizing the lack of accessible resources and information about Slavic culture in the English language, the founders of Perun Mountain set out to create a platform that would bridge this gap. Their shared vision was to establish an community where individuals with an interest in Slavic heritage could come together, learn, and celebrate their shared history.

Since its inception, Perun Mountain has grown into a vibrant community that serves as a hub for Slavic cultural exploration.
